Dell Technologies and ISTE collaborated upon an exciting initiative to support digital literacy and provide the tools to recognize misinformation and improve self-awareness.  In this session, assess your own level of digital literacy and explore strategies and resources to support your own learning, as well provide supports for other educators, students and members in your school community.

Presenters

  • Katina Papulkas

    Katina Papulkas is an Education Strategist at Dell Technologies and is committed to serving K-12 students across Canada. She is an experienced educator with a background in teaching, online learning, educational leadership, assessment, and educational technology. In her two-decade tenure in education she has been an elementary teacher and a K-12 instructional leader where she designed and implemented system-wide initiatives around the effective integration of technology into the curriculum. Additionally, Katina served as Vice Principal of a middle school at the Toronto District School Board. Most recently, she was the Director of Educational Partnerships at Television Ontario (TVO) where she focused on the design and development of K-12 digital learning resources in a cross functional and agile environment.

    Tom Osmun

    Thomas is committed to helping students succeed in an increasingly digital world. He has worked as a K-12 teacher, RTI coach, middle school assistant principal, professional learning supervisor and an instructional programs administrator. He has facilitated professional learning around problem-based learning, blended learning, and Professional Learning Community (PLC) implementation. Tom has led a Learning Management System (LMS) implementation along with overseeing blended learning courses and curriculum. He has a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in Physical Education/Sports Management and a Master’s degree from Saint Leo University in Educational Leadership.
